Does free-will exist or everything is predetermined? This is a question that has been debated for centuries. Do we have a choice to choose our own destiny?
Does free-will exist or everything is predetermined? This is a question that has been debated for centuries. Do we have a choice to choose our own destiny?
Several times in our life, these following questions might come across our mind: Does free-will exist? Could it be manipulated by something else? And the answer is simply related to the word “Karma”. In Buddhism, Karma means intentional actions which usually lead to some consequences in the future. As the saying says “What goes around comes around.” Everything we are doing now is going to give us results in the near future.
Moreover, Karma is like planting seed of our actions. If we plant a good seed, one-day we will be able to enjoy the fruits of the tree in the future. On the other hand, if a rough and tough time knocks at our door without prior notice, or let’s say we are experiencing such a difficult time in our life, this could be considered as a past Karma that we planted a while ago without imagine it would become a strong tree that gives a large impact on life. The past Karma even effects much stronger that the present one.
That is why we need to keep in mind “What is happening to us now and what is going to happen to us in the future” and watch out our actions. We are all free to make our own choices or our own decisions no matter good or bad, but we are not free from the consequence of those choices.
